Pregnancy scanning is probably the most exciting part of our job. The ability to look and see new life is truly amazing. Lovegood Canine Fertility carry out pet pregnancy ultrasound scans to confirm pregnancy and monitor your dam and puppies during gestation. The ultrasound gives an indication of litter sizes and identifies any problems. We can predict the whelp date so you can tailor your dog’s care and feeding routines and get ready for whelping.
ARE ULTRASOUND SCANS SAFE FOR DOGS?
Pet ultrasounds are a non-invasive method of examining pregnancies. Unlike X-rays, radiation is not part of an ultrasound examination. Ultrasound imaging works via sound waves and provides clear information useful for diagnosing and measuring pregnancies and litter sizes. We use a water-based lubricant that is safe to use on animals. Our equipment is sanitised after each use to prevent cross contamination. The ultrasound can be carried out standing or lying down, whichever is more comfortable for your dog.
